Dr. Waterman, a native of Seattle, Washington, was accepted directly from high school into the extremely competitive and prestigious Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute/Albany Medical College BS/MD program.
He completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and began medical school at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College at the age of 19.
Dr. Waterman earned his medical degree at the age of 23 years old, having completed the accelerated combined BS/MD degree curriculum within six years rather than the typical eight years it normally took to work through the arduous program. In his senior year, Dr. Waterman was awarded the John Milton Bigelow Prize for excellence in examinations relating to the ear, nose and throat.
After his year-long general surgery internship, Dr. Waterman completed a four-year subspecialty residency in Otolaryngology (medical expertise in treating ear, nose and throat) at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
During his residency, Dr. Waterman was mentored by Dr. Peter Koltai, a pioneer and leader Pediatric Otolaryngology, who is currently a professor of Otolaryngology and Pediatrics in the in the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Stanford University School of Medicine.
Dr. Koltai introduced the young Dr. Waterman to the art and science of rhinoplasty, and Dr. Waterman found his life-long medical passion, and made a commitment to pursue excellence in rhinoplasty.

Personal Background
Dr. Waterman believes life is meant to be lived to the fullest. His profession has allowed him to help others live with confidence, health and well-being.
During his college years, he won New York State Championship and competed at NCAA Nationals for his 800 meter run. Being inducted to his college’s athletic Hall of Fame planted the seed for Dr. Waterman’s commitment to a healthy active lifestyle.
Today, Dr. Waterman is an avid competitive cyclist. He has raced at nine different velodromes in five states and four countries. He recently won the gold medal at the Pan American Games in the 750-meter time trials. Other activities Dr. Waterman pursues in his free time include skiing, exploring Seattle's food scene, and playing guitar. A lifelong learner, Dr. Waterman also loves to study languages and travel.
Dr. Waterman is the proud father of two young adults, and lives near Lake Washington, just south of his Madison Park office.
